Despite anticorruption crusade, still no change in perception

Despite the drive of Obasanjos government and the government of Musa Yaradua, Nigeria still languishes in the doldrums of Transparency's Internationals current ranking.

A score of 2.2 out of a possible 10 makes Nigeria the 32nd most corrupt country out 180 surveyed.

I can only shake my head and hope that Musa Yaradua is reading this article. The sooner the Nigerian government declares a state of Emmergency against corruption the better for millions of Nigeria. He also needs to change the law to stop criminals from using it to protect themselves.

Hundreds if not thousands of Nigerians are dying everyday as a direct result of this terrible scourge. A scourge encouraged by the Nigerian masses who pay lip service to these criminals.
